Real Estate Program
The Real Estate Program offers several options which prepare students for increasing levels of responsibility and career choices within the field of real estate.
Real Estate Licensure Examination
By taking only two courses, you are prepared to sit for the Real Estate Sales Licensure Examination. After passing this examination, you will be licensed to sell real estate. Courses required:
- RE 170C - Essentials of Real Estate - 3 hours
- RE 273C - Real Estate Law- 3 hours
Certificate in Real Estate
Building upon these first two courses, the student may continue studies in real estate by taking an additional seven courses (21 college credit hours) and earn a Certificate in Real Estate from Western Kentucky University. These additional courses provide the student with knowledge of real estate brokerage operations, real estate investments analysis and management. Experience in real estate when combined with this Certificate does prepare the student to qualify for licensing as a Real Estate Broker.

Real Estate Associate Degree
As a third option, students may choose to complete the coursework required to achieve the Associates Degree in Business: Real Estate Concentration. In completing this program, the student will gain knowledge of accounting principles, marketing skills, supervisory management, computer systems, and communications skills.
The Business: Real Estate Degree requires the following courses in addition to the core courses and general education courses required of all Business Degree Students:
