Charge

As we enter a new phase of applying both current and emerging technologies in the ever growing world of web-based information, I am forming a new group, the Web & Emerging Technologies Working Group, that will both replace and expand the work formerly done by the Web Site Team.  Each of you has been selected for this new group after considerable discussion with the department heads.  As he did with the WST, Haiwang Yuan will function in the role of leader.  In addition, in recognition of both his ability to seek out new applications and to apply them in the most feasible effective ways, I have named Haiwang as Special Assistant to the Dean for Web & Emerging Technologies.

I believe you will prove to be a highly productive working group and draw on the unique talents and knowledge each of you bring to this operation.
