Researchers at the Applied Physics Institute have experience in developing a variety of systems
and field experience for cleaning up our environment.
API researchers have designed systems to characterize nuclear waste for fissile content and heat generation.
Some also have previous field experience in characterizing clean-up sites such as the Melton Valley Storage Tanks
in Oak Ridge, TN. They have designed systems to detect 99Tc, a contaminant in nuclear fuel.
While API researchers have developed systems to clean up former battlefields and military installations,
they also have experience in using these systems under field conditions.
The API is continually developing new techniques and systems to make our world a safer place.
