API members help with the
Science Olympiad,
Kentucky FIRST LEGO League,

Physics Olympics,
a yearly competitions for high school students
who like to meet challenges and do projects in all areas of applied science and technology.
Our faculty advise students of
The Carol Martin Gatton Academy of Mathematics and Sciences in Kentucky
and direct their research projects performed at Applied Physics Institute and Cyber Defense Laboratory during academic semesters and summer months.
The goals of the Gatton Academy are to enable Kentucky’s exceptional young scientists and mathematicians to learn in an environment which offers advanced educational opportunities, preparing them for leadership roles in a knowledge-based economy of 21st century.
The Academy provides a rich living/learning environment designed specifically for academically talented adolescent students that features research, clubs, organizations and community service.
